Mathematics
At St John Fisher RC Primary School, we are committed to providing a high-quality mathematics education that equips our children with essential skills for lifelong learning. We utilise the White Rose Maths scheme, which offers a structured and progressive approach to learning, ensuring that all children develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. Central to our teaching is the CPA (Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract) approach, which allows children to explore mathematical ideas through hands-on experiences, visual representations, and abstract reasoning. This method caters to diverse learning styles and helps children grasp complex concepts more effectively. Additionally, we focus on the importance of multiplication and division through engaging activities and the Times Table Check, fostering fluency and confidence in these foundational skills. By integrating these innovative strategies, we aim to inspire a love of mathematics and empower our children to become confident, capable mathematicians.
