Welcome Back
Welcome Back to a New Academic Year at St John Fisher
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you are all well and that you and your families had a restful and enjoyable summer break. As we begin the new academic year, I am delighted to welcome both our returning pupils and those joining us for the first time at St John Fisher. I am confident that this year will be filled with new learning opportunities, personal growth, and exciting experiences for everyone.
This year is particularly special, as we gather to celebrate not just the beginning of a new school year but also a wonderful milestone—our school’s 70th anniversary! Seventy years of learning, laughter, and love. As we embark on this exciting journey together, let us remember our school values of Love of God, Love of Self and Love of Others, which will guide us through the many adventures ahead.
As always, I would like to emphasise the importance of our home–school partnership, which is vital for the success of our pupils. Please stay connected through our weekly newsletter, emails, and the school website, where key updates and information will be posted. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or the school office. We deeply value your involvement in school life and warmly welcome your support in activities and events throughout the year.
To further strengthen this partnership, I would like to invite you to our “Meet the Teacher” sessions next week. These sessions will run from 3:30 pm – 3:50pm in classrooms and will provide an opportunity for teachers to share their expectations for the year and give an overview of the curriculum your child will be covering. If you are unable to attend, the presentation slides will be made available on our website on Friday 12th September.
- Monday 8th September – Year 2, Year 4, Year 6
- Thursday 11th September – Year 1, Year 2/3, Year 3, Year 5
Finally, thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. The staff team at St John Fisher are excited to welcome the children back and look forward to a fantastic year ahead — celebrating our 70th anniversary, seeing our pupils thrive and grow, and continuing to make our school community the very best it can be.
Kind regards,
Mr P. Kenny
