A River’s Tale
Through the creative “Once upon a Raindrop” book, year 5 discover the journey of a river and its impact on the physical and human geography around it. Using typography children create their own islands in art. In learning about the Vikings, who used the waterways to travel and create their own homes they consider the question as to whether they are invaders or raiders and how society can walk together in peace for the greater good. In science they understand the many life cycles of animals and their offspring with a closer look at those in a river habitat. They use computers to create videos of the river’s journey.
