Welcome to St josephine bahkita's class page
As we embark on an exciting new academic year, I am delighted to welcome you and your children to Year 6. This year holds significant importance as it is our final year of primary education, and we aim to make it a memorable one filled with meaningful learning experiences and enjoyable activities.
In our class, we are honoured to have adopted St Josephine Bakhita as our class saint. St Josephine's commitment to justice and compassion is an inspiring model for our students, and we look forward to embedding her values in our daily learning and interactions. Throughout the year, we will engage in activities that reflect these virtues, fostering a sense of community and respect within our classroom.
As part of our journey through Year 6, we have many exciting educational adventures planned, including a residential trip to PGL. This experience will not only provide our children with the opportunity to engage in various outdoor and team-building activities but will also promote personal growth and the development of lifelong skills. Further details regarding the dates and arrangements will be shared with you soon.
I encourage parents to maintain an open line of communication with us throughout the year. Your involvement is invaluable, and we appreciate any support you can provide, whether you have skills to share or simply words of encouragement. Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your continued support, and here’s to a year filled with learning, fun, and adventure!

Changing States
As year 6 aspire to bring the common good to all they recognize that facing challenges together means that challenges can be overcome, like responding to natural disasters of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions through their bookEarth Shattering Events. In learning about America in geography they compare physical and human features and the difficulties they face in being closer to possible natural disasters. Understanding the Mayan society in history and how they overcome challenges gives a better understanding of all members of our societies. In science they learn about materials and their properties and how they use them effectively to create 3D models with cams and pulleys in DT to help others following a disaster. In art they create sculptures of the Mayan time.
